I just joined this community. My name's Alexis. And I consider myself a pretty late Gaarder fan (My Norwegian friend told me they're encouraged to read his works at Year 6 or 7.) at 18 years old.
It all started with "Sophie's World". The book was so good, I felt the urge to buy "Through A Glass, Darkly". I'm also planning to buy "The Orange Girl", an excerpt from which I've read already.
But the thing is, I read pretty fast. I usually finish a novel in a week. So right now, I'd like to ask for suggestions for book # 4.
Oh, the nearest bookstore from here apparently won't sell "The Solitaire Mystery". It's been a year since they've sold the book, so it's out of the question.
Order the solitaire mystery online, it's easily the best book next to Sophie's World plus online is usually cheaper!
I tried to read Sophie's World in year 6 & ended up skipping all the letters, my brain was fried! I have to same problem, i read a couple of books a week.
"The Solitaire Mystery" is really a good book, so please buy it online somewhere.
And after that I would suggest you to read "Maya"!
Right now I'm going to plan to read "Vita brevis" (I'm sorry I don't know the real title, 'cause I'm reading it in german.)
I wish he is going to write more, I'm nearly finished with all of his books :-)
